I forgot to mention the wonderful pumpkin martini’s I had the other evening that I need to share with any of you pumpkin lovers. There are so many different ways you can make these–some recipes I found online call for vanilla vodka, rum, plain vodka, pumpkin syrup, what have you. My friend and I kind of winged it and made it our own by gathering ideas from about 10 different recipes. We tried it a few different ways, mainly to taste. We had to add a lot of simple syrup to get it nice and sweet, otherwise it has quite a dull, interesting (not in a good way) flavor. Here’s what we ended up with, more or less:
Pumpkin Martini’s1 cup graham cracker, crushed into fine crumbsice cubes3-4 tablespoons vanilla vodka2 tablespoons pumpkin puree1/4 teaspoon cinnamon1/4 teaspoon nutmeghalf-and-half, to tastesimple syrup, to taste
Place the graham cracker crumbs on a small plate. Wet the rim of a chilled martini glass and dip into the crumbs to coat. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the rest of the ingredients. Shake and strain into martini glass and enjoy!
